Mentor Bans Short-Term Rentals
The City of Mentor has officially passed legislation banning short-term rentals (like Airbnb and Vrbo). This new ordinance prohibits homeowners from renting out their properties for stays of 30 days or less.
The decision was made in response to concerns about neighborhood stability, noise, and safety. Violators may face fines of up to $250 per day.
Per Cleveland19.com, there were approximately 21 active short-term rentals in Mentor as of November of 2024.
